Privacy Policy
Obliquity is a technology and software engineering studio. This Privacy Policy documents how we handle personal information, what happens when you submit an inquiry, and the technical mechanisms in place to safeguard your communication.
Who Operates This Website
This website (https://obliquity.dev) is operated by Obliquity ("we", "us", or "our"). We engineer digital experiences, web applications, and intelligent systems.
If you have questions regarding this Privacy Policy or our data practices, contact us directly at:
Information Submitted to Obliquity
We only collect personal information that you intentionally and voluntarily provide when contacting us through our project inquiry form:
- Full Name: Used to address you in direct communication.
- Email Address: Used to deliver our project response and automated confirmation.
- Company / Project Name: Optional context provided by you to assist our project review.
- Project Parameters: Selected scope, anticipated timeline, and your project description or problem overview.
When you interact with our inquiry API, your client IP address is processed strictly in-memory by our sliding-window rate limiter to throttle denial-of-service attempts and spam floods. IP addresses are held in transient server memory and automatically evicted after the active window expires. They are never written to a permanent database.
Minimalist Data Footprint
In accordance with our data minimization principles, Obliquity does not collect, purchase, or infer extraneous personal data. Specifically:
- No user accounts, profiles, or authentication credentials.
- No financial information, credit card numbers, or billing data.
- No marketing newsletters, mailing lists, or promotional broadcasts.
- No tracking pixels, third-party analytics SDKs, or session replay scripts.
- No tracking cookies or cross-site advertising identifiers.
- No geolocation tracking, biometric data, or device fingerprinting.
How Your Information Is Used
Information collected through the project inquiry form is processed solely for legitimate business communication:
- To evaluate your project requirements and determine technical feasibility.
- To prepare architectural proposals, timelines, and exploratory replies.
- To respond directly to your correspondence via email.
- To protect our infrastructure and contact channels against automated abuse.
We do not sell, rent, monetize, or license your personal information to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.
Transactional Processing Partners
To operate our website and handle correspondence reliably, we utilize select technical infrastructure providers:
When you submit an inquiry, our server transmits the message payload to Resend via encrypted API. Resend delivers the internal alert to our team (teamobliquity@gmail.com) and dispatches the acknowledgement email to you from hello@obliquity.dev. Resend maintains delivery logs in accordance with their standard operational data policies.
Our website and serverless API endpoints are deployed on Vercel's global edge platform. Standard server connection logs (such as request timestamps, HTTP status codes, and user-agent strings) may be generated for network security and routing.
Data Retention & Operational Reality
Obliquity operates with an intentionally lean architecture:
No Persistent Database: We do not maintain a SQL database, customer relationship management (CRM) database, or user data store on our website.
Email Correspondence Storage: Submitted inquiry records reside as standard email correspondence within Obliquity's inbox (teamobliquity@gmail.com). We retain these messages for as long as necessary to conduct ongoing client communication, fulfill active project discussions, and maintain standard business records.
Data Access, Correction & Deletion
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws (including GDPR and similar regulations), such as:
- The right to request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- The right to request correction of inaccurate information.
- The right to request the deletion or purging of your inquiry correspondence.
- The right to object to or restrict processing of your information.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at teamobliquity@gmail.com with the subject line "Privacy Request". Because we do not run automated account portals, our team will manually review our inbox, locate your correspondence, and fulfill your verified deletion or disclosure request.
How We Protect Data
We implement technical and architectural security controls to mitigate risk:
- TLS/HTTPS Everywhere: All traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted in transit using modern TLS protocols.
- Input Bounds & Sanitization: Form fields enforce strict maximum length limits and strip control characters to guard against injection.
- Email Escaping: All user-submitted text is HTML-escaped before email template compilation to prevent script injection.
- Anti-Bot Honeypots & Rate Limiting: Automated bot traps and sliding-window rate limiters prevent programmatic abuse.
Children's Privacy
Obliquity provides software engineering services for professionals, businesses, and engineering collaborators. Our website is not directed toward children under 18 years of age (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from minors.
If you believe a minor has submitted personal information through our contact form, please notify us at teamobliquity@gmail.com, and we will promptly delete the record from our email correspondence.
Policy Revisions
As our studio services and experimental Labs evolve, we may update this Privacy Policy. The latest version will always be published at https://obliquity.dev/privacy with the updated effective date indicated at the top of the page.
